Get ready for loads of pictures.
Nova got to stay at our friends' Mike and Janay with her bestie Eddie and the dog they were fostering, Nei'la, so she had a ball
Friday night we flew out, rented a nice new fancy car, and checked into our hotel.
Saturday morning we had a little hooding and awards ceremony with just the MSW students and their families at a brunch. Then in the afternoon we had commencement with the whole graduating class of 2015 with the doctorates, masters, bachelors, and 1 associate. It was pretty long and painful, but I'm not planning on going back to school any time soon so I earned it!
We had to write a little blurb to be read as we got hooded at convocation brunch and mine was one of the very few goofy ones:
"Eve started in the MSW program while living in Idaho, completed her second internship in Oregon while living in Washington, and finished her thesis while living in California. She would like to thank God for constantly sustaining her, her husband for putting up with her and supporting her even during sleep deprivation, her parents for inspiring a love of learning and hard work, the NNU faculty and staff especially Dr Lancaster for getting her through her thesis, the Idaho Falls cohort, her internship supervisors, Monster energy drinks, and Costa Vida burritos."
this guy! i wouldn't have been able to get through it without him <3

After all the pomp and circumstance was over, we went to get the food that got me through the first year of my degree COSTA VIDA!! Followed by froyo at Yogurtz because they have so many fun toppings. My parents never eat this stuff, so it was entertaining taking them haha.

yums
Sunday morning we went for a hike at Eagle Island State Park. Because hiking is what the Chebuhar and Swallow clans do (yea those are my parents fams, lol).
i kinda missed this scenery
Since we pretty much had to do a layover on our flight back, we choose to pay a bit extra so we could stop in Portland on our way to San Diego so we got to see my mom in Idaho, Jed's mom in Oregon, and then fly back to California in one day!
after hiking in Nampa
dinner in the Portland airport
And the obligatory PDX carpet shot (it's a cult you guys):
on the flight in, Mt Hood
Our flight back was delayed so we didn't get to SD til past 11pm Sunday night and then chatted with Mike, who graciously babysat our dog and drove us to and from the airport, til late so I had a "sick" day the next day. @.@
Phew! (told you there was going to be a lot of pix)

I loved all the pics. Congrats on the outstanding award, and your blurb was amazing. Also, that Mount Hood shot, it looks like something that should be on a postcard.
