Jed and Eve

So I thought I'd do a little mid-month update for fun.

Work is still running me ragged but not at full-time hours yet.  Horrible, I know, but some days I have one appointment and then other days I am juggling PSR with kids and adults, driving people to doctor appointments or check-ins with their PO, taking people to the Welfare office with a stack of paper so we can get them on Medicaid and in to services, interpreting Spanish/English, doing assessments, and drafting service plans.  I am really trying to make it so that I have all Idaho Falls clients on 2 days, all Rigby clients on 2 days, and then can work at home doing service plans on one day, but it hasn't worked out yet..

Jed has been busting his butt at school.  He's been working so hard and doing so well.  His Media Law and Ethics class is really hard, he's enjoying the content for his Advertising class but not his peers in the class, and he is doing well in his Research and Professional Presentations classes too.  The other day he came home and said he thinks he may have found his niche in media buying.  It sounds pretty interesting to me too!

Week before last we were able to go to the Bill Cosby show, which was pretty legit.  He was pretty funny and on our night (of 3 he was here) he mostly talked about quirks his wife has, silly things about marriage, and about Adam and Eve and the Creation.

That weekend we finally invested in a vacuum. We ended up getting the Electrolux Ergorapido cordless stick vacuum which is fabulous.

Our garden is looking a little windswept but there's new growth on all our little live plants - even the ones we thought were dead.  The seeds have come up too!

We went to Idaho Falls with Daniel and Maddy this weekend to try and de-stress a little.  We went to Red Robin, Sportsman's Warehouse, and WinCo (as usual).  When we got back they ate these sausage-in-a-corn-dog-made-to-look-like-a-pancake things that gave them all stomach aches the entire next day.  I had a Vans waffle.  :P

We also geared up this week for light backpacking (maybe one day we'll be ultra-light) - trimming down on weight and size from what we used to do.  We got the Alps Mountaineering Zephyr 2 tent, a Slumberjack Latitude +20 degree sleeping bag each, Therm-a-Rest Trail Scout ground pads each, a Teton Sports Outfitter 4600 internal frame pack for Jed (I have the Scout 3200), a Black Diamond Spot headlamp for me, MREs for Jed and Backpacker's Pantry freeze dried meals for me, as well as a cheap compass, little pocket knife, 98% DEET bug repellent, and a Palisades topo map.

We plan on getting out on the trails next weekend and we're so stoked.  Other than that we playing Harvest Moon and Skyrim, trying not to let school and work stress us out too much, and enjoying each other's company when we can squeeze it in what with our fluctuating schedules.  More soon on outdoor adventures!  :)
